I am having a problem with WR recognizing IE 7.0 onblur() javascript function. WR seems to recognize the function in IE 6.0. and not 7.0. Is there a plugin or some kind of fix for this.
Do you have WR 9.2? A lot of updates have been made to support IE 7.0 when this upgrade occured from WR 8.2.
Are you having issues with the GUI Map?
Let me know.
thank you.
John Scarpino
I am currently running WR 9.2. Download rock music mp3. I am not having issues with WR recognizing the GUI objects on the page. however, I am having 2 main issues:
Scenario 1: there is a dropdown menu and a textbox. the textbox text is filled by whatever a person selects from the dropdown menu (if you select 'Joe' from the dropdown menu, javascript function is called whenever you take away the focus from the dropdown, and the textbox text is filled with 'Joe') but apparently when WR takes away the focus, there are null values being passed to the javascript.
Scenario 2: initially there is a textbox and a disabled dropdown menu. whenever you enter text into the textbox and then take away the focus, the dropdown menu is supposed to enable. WR is not allowing the javascript to run apparently because the dropdown never enables when the focus is taken away from the textbox.
thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.
i think we have installed it, but not positive. i did a search for the addin on this site and it didnt return any results. could you possibly point me in the direction as to where i could find it and i will install it again to see if that would fix this issue. thanks.
You should ask your sales person for the Java Add-in CD for your WR. or contact - WinRunnertoQTP@hp.com
Also rember to transition your scripts to QTP! http://www.win-quick.com
I hope this helps.
John
Try using the SendKey function and send a Tab to exit the field. Would this work to allow your javs code to execute?
Rhonda,
He has exited the field by entering an amount in a webedit, and the javascript still does not work as it should. The problem will probably end up being the add-in. I thought Mercury would let you download such add-ins, why would HP make us obtain a disc?

Because of the transition out from WR I did not check if you can download it. I know in the past 'Mercury Interactive' days I would just let them know and a CD is sent to me ASAP!
I would login and check if you can download the Java Add-in or email them.
I hope that it works afterwards. Let me know.
Stephen,
You said 'He has exited the field by entering an amount in a webedit, and the javascript still does not work as it should.'
Where does the poster ever state he has entered an AMOUNT in a webedit? Both his examples have him entering or selecting a text value.
Also, the poster does not mention what methods are used to select or enter these values. The 'Set' and 'Type' (and I think the 'Select' method as well) methods do not actually act the same as when a user manually performs these actions. In order for the set value to remain, I have found having the script tab out of the field to be a necessary step in getting other fields populated as expected.
In our experience, we do not need the Java Add-in unless there are java objects used on the GUI, or we are actually acting against a java applet.
Rondah,
Please excuse me for not specifying that I work with 'the poster'
I was simply trying to progress the conversation to the solution of the problem by continuing the conversation, since I knew that he would not post anymore that day. I didn't realize that people got their panties in a wad on HP IT Resource Center, like they do on some third party SQA message boards.
However, I would like to thank you for sharing your experience with the Java add-in.
